• Volunteer: Sustained commitment to one organization
• Passion project: Major progress on something you're building
• College visits: Finalize your list

What to Avoid

• Expensive programs that are just tours
• Shallow, scattered volunteer hours
• Overloading with unrelated activities
• Spending ALL summer on test prep
