Overview

It's time to submit your course requests for junior year! Make sure you're selecting the right courses for your goals.

Before Submitting

Confirm Your Choices

• Have you met with your counselor?
• Do your selections match your discussion?
• Are prerequisites satisfied?

Check A-G Progress

Will your selections complete:

• At least 11 A-G courses by end of junior year?
• All remaining requirements?

Balance Check

• Is this course load manageable?
• Have you planned for activities and other commitments?
• Does this align with your goals?

The Request Process

What to Submit

• First-choice courses
• Alternate courses (in case first choices are full)
• Any special requests or notes

Common Requirements

• Parent/guardian signature
• Counselor approval
• Sometimes teacher recommendations for honors/AP

After Submitting

• Keep a copy of your requests
• Note any wait-listed courses
• Follow up if you don't get your first choices
• Be prepared to advocate for yourself if needed

If Changes Are Needed Later

Schools usually have a window at the start of the year to make schedule changes. Ask your counselor about the process.
