What to Confirm

• They've agreed to write a strong letter
• They understand the timeline (letters due in fall)
• They have your brag sheet and materials
• They know approximately how many schools you're applying to

If They Seem Hesitant

A lukewarm letter is worse than no letter. It's better to politely say:

"I understand you're very busy - I don't want to impose. I'll ask someone else instead."
