Score Choice
The option to send only specific SAT score reports to colleges, not the full testing history. Some schools require all sittings.
Score Choice is a College Board feature that lets students choose which SAT score reports to send to a particular college, rather than the full testing history. With Score Choice, a student who tested three times can elect to send only the strongest sitting.
However, some highly selective colleges require students to send all SAT or ACT scores ever taken, overriding Score Choice. Common policies include: send all scores, send only the highest sitting, or accept superscored composites. Each school's policy is documented in its application instructions.
For parents, the practical takeaway is to check each school's score-reporting policy before deciding how many times to test. If a child's target list includes schools that require all scores, a poor sitting will be visible regardless of Score Choice.
