Overview

Receiving any D or F grades means you'll need to retake that course. Let's make sure you're on track to avoid that!

Why This Matters

• D and F grades don't satisfy A-G requirements
• You must retake the course (using valuable schedule space)
• It affects your course sequence
• For UC/CSU: the retake grade replaces the original

• Missing major assignments
• Not understanding the material
• Avoiding the class or homework

Immediate Actions

1. Talk to your teacher - explain your situation and ask for help
2. Check for missing assignments you can still complete
3. Ask about extra credit opportunities
4. Attend any review sessions
5. Get tutoring immediately

Study Intensively

• Focus extra time on this class
• Find study partners
• Use online resources (Khan Academy, YouTube tutorials)
• Practice, practice, practice

Having the Conversation

With your teacher:

"I'm concerned about my grade and want to do better. Can we talk about what I can do to improve before the semester ends?"

If You Do Get a D or F

• It's not the end of the world
