Solyo checks 331 vetted college scholarships against one student’s real profile and returns only the ones they qualify for, ranked by what each pays per hour of work. 141 have no competition at all, where meeting the criteria is the whole contest, 187 need no essay, and every one is free to apply.
Eligibility is the part a list cannot do for you. Solyo reads the published rules for all 331 awards — residency across 51 states, grade level, GPA floors, intended major, citizenship, military and first-generation status, financial need — and keeps only what your student can actually enter.
State programs are usually the largest money a family is eligible for and the easiest to miss, because they are administered locally rather than advertised nationally. Each page lists that state’s awards plus the national ones the same student can enter.
June is the heaviest month in the catalog with 68 closings. Working backwards from a deadline is the only reliable way to avoid losing an award to a missed date.
It reads the eligibility rules published by each of the 331 scholarship providers in the catalog and checks them against your student’s own profile: GPA, state of residence, grade level, intended major, activities and financial-aid situation. Awards whose rules your student cannot meet are removed rather than ranked low, so the list you are left with is the list worth spending a weekend on.
No. All 331 are readable without signing in, at the scholarship directory, along with the estimated odds, the hours each application takes and what that works out to per hour. An account is what turns that catalog into your student’s shortlist.
141 of the 331 scholarships here are not contests. The provider gives the money to everyone who meets the published criteria and files on time, rather than picking winners from a pool, which is why they are usually the highest-value hours a family can spend. Two kinds appear: awards marked "Qualify and receive", where meeting the rules is enough, and awards marked "First come, first served", where the funding is rationed and eligible students are turned away once it runs out, so the filing date decides the outcome.
187 of the 331 need no essay at all. Combined with the 212 that renew in later years, that is where a student short on time should start: no essay to draft, and the money repeats.
No, and neither does any scholarship in this catalog. Every award is verified against its official page, and a provider that charges a fee to apply is not listed. Legitimate scholarships never charge.
June carries the most closings in this catalog, with 68 of the 331 due that month. Deadlines can be browsed month by month, and once a student is matched, theirs are added to their calendar.
