Start your UC application

Overview

The UC Application opens August 1! You can start filling out sections, though you can't submit until October 1.

Getting Started

1. Create account at apply.universityofcalifornia.edu
2. Complete "About You" section (demographics, citizenship)
3. Start "Academic History" (schools, courses, grades)
4. Begin "Activities & Awards" section

UC Activities Section (More Space!)

• 20 activities/awards/experiences allowed
• 350 characters each (more than double Common App!)
• Categories: Award/honor, Educational program, Work experience, Volunteer, Extracurricular, Other coursework

Personal Insight Questions

• Add your 4 PIQ drafts
• Maximum 350 words each
• You should have drafts ready from July

Timeline

• August: Fill in profile, academic history, activities
• September: Polish PIQs, review all sections
• October 1: Submission opens
• November 30 at 11:59 PM PT: Deadline for all 9 campuses

Cost

$70 per campus ($80 international). Fee waivers cover up to 4 campuses.
