November 1 is THE major deadline for ED (Early Decision) and EA (Early Action) applications. This is the most critical day in the college application calendar. Everything must be submitted, verified, and confirmed by 11:59 PM in your timezone on November 1.

After Submission: What to Do
Don't Change Anything
- Application submitted
- No changes can be made
- Don't try to upload additional materials unless school requests
Monitor Email
- Check email daily for college communications
- If college needs additional information, respond promptly
- Admit/defer/reject notifications in mid-December (ED) or January (EA)
Track Submitted Materials
- Verify college portal shows all materials received:
- Application (should show "Submitted")
- Essays (should show "Received")
- Recommender letters (should show names and dates)
- Test scores (should show scores)
- Transcript (may show "Processing" for few days)
If Materials Missing
- Email admissions immediately: "My application shows [missing material]. Can you confirm it was received?"
- Resubmit if necessary
ED Results on December 15 (Typically)
ED outcomes:
- Acceptance - You're admitted ED; must enroll; withdraw all other applications
- Deferral - Moved to Regular Decision pool; continues review in January
- Rejection - Not admitted; move forward with other applications
If accepted ED: Withdraw from all other colleges immediately (send emails to each)
If deferred or rejected: Continue with RD applications
