Gmail Integration
Connect your Gmail to Solyo in under 2 minutes and start chatting with your emails.
Solyo Team
Imagine asking "What did my teacher say about the project deadline?" and getting an instant answer from your emails. That's what happens when you connect Gmail to Solyo.
The setup takes less than 2 minutes. Let's do it.
Connect Your Gmail
Step 1: Open Integrations
Head to Integrations from your dashboard and select the Email tab. You'll see Gmail right there.
Step 2: Add Your Account
Click Gmail and fill in two things:
- Account name — a friendly label like "School Email" or "Personal"
- Email address — the Gmail address you want to connect
Step 3: Grant Read Access
Toggle on Read Email Access and agree to the privacy policy. Then hit Connect with Google.
Solyo only requests read-only access. We can never send, delete, or modify your emails. Your inbox stays exactly as it is.
Step 4: Authorize with Google
Google will ask you to sign in and confirm. Once you approve, you'll be redirected back to Solyo and your integration will show as Active.
That's it — your emails are now available in Solyo!
What You Can Do Now
Once connected, head to Chat and start asking questions about your emails:
- "When is the SAT registration deadline?" — Solyo finds the answer across all your emails instantly
- "Summarize all emails from my guidance counselor this month" — get the highlights without reading every message
- "What did Coach say about practice this week?" — no more scrolling through hundreds of messages
Solyo works best when it has context. Connect your school email, personal email, or both — and combine it with uploaded documents for even better answers.
Manage Your Connection
Everything stays in your control. From the Integrations page you can:
- View status — check that your connection is active
- Disconnect — remove Gmail access anytime with one click
- Add more accounts — connect as many Gmail addresses as you need
Something Not Working?
If your integration shows as inactive, try these quick fixes:
- Make sure you approved all permissions on the Google consent screen
- Check that your Google account doesn't have extra security restrictions blocking third-party apps
- Disconnect the integration and reconnect it — this usually does the trick
