Missouri Public Safety Recruitment and Retention Act Scholarship
Offered by Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development · Free to apply
Created by Senate Bill 71 in 2025, this Missouri scholarship covers 100% of tuition and fees, after federal and state grant aid, for the FAFSA dependent children of Missouri police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and 911 telecommunicators who have at least 10 years of service and are still employed full time. At private colleges the cap is the highest public tuition and fees in Missouri. Dependents must not already hold a bachelor's degree and must enroll in an eligible program at an approved school. Students apply each year in the State Financial Aid Portal with the parent's employment verification, proof of residence and license, plus the FAFSA. For 2027-28 the application opens in October 2026 and closes December 15, 2026. Funding depends on appropriations.

How Solyo estimates this: State programs that allocate by published formula are modelled on qualification and filing, not on competition, because there is no selection committee choosing between applicants. These are estimates derived from each award's published structure, not reported acceptance rates, which almost no scholarship provider discloses. Treat them as a way to rank where the hours go, not as a guarantee.
