Verify A-G course compliance

Overview

Making sure your courses are A-G approved is one of the most important things you can do freshman year. This affects your UC and CSU eligibility!

What Are A-G Requirements?

15 year-long courses (or equivalent) required for UC and CSU:

How to Verify Your Courses

Step 1: Get Your Schedule

List all the courses you're currently enrolled in.

Step 2: Check the A-G Course List

Visit hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist

• Search for your high school
• Look up each course
• Note which A-G category it fulfills

Step 3: Mark Any Gaps

Are any of your courses NOT on the list? Talk to your counselor!

Important Notes

• Course names can be misleading - verify every class
• Not all math or science classes are A-G approved
• Some schools have courses awaiting approval

Freshman Year Goal

By end of freshman year, you should have completed:

• 1 year of English (Category B)
• 1 year of Math (Category C)
• 1 year of Foreign Language (Category E) - ideally
• Additional courses as available
