Overview

Send your AP scores to your committed college. You get one free score report when you register for the exam; additional reports cost $15 each.

When to Send

Ideal Timing

• After scores release (mid-July)
• Before August 15 (so college can process for fall)
• Some colleges have specific deadlines

Which Scores to Send

• All passing scores (3+) to committed college
• Even scores lower than required - let registrar verify
• Skip 1s (no credit value)

Sending Procedure

1. Log in to apstudents.collegeboard.org
2. Click "Send Scores"
3. Select committed college
4. Confirm address
5. Pay $15 per additional college if more than one

Processing Time

• 1-3 business days to send electronically
• 5-10 business days for mailed reports
• College registrar processes weeks after

Verification

• Check college portal after 1-2 weeks
• Confirm scores received
• Credit applied to transcript

If Scores Aren't Processed

• Contact admissions or registrar
• Provide proof of sending
• Request update

Canceled or Withheld Scores

If you withheld or canceled a score:

• Cannot be sent retroactively
• Consider whether to retake (usually not)
• Don't mention on applications

International Students

• Send to international address if required
• Allow extra processing time
• Confirm with college

After Sending

• No further action typically needed
• Credit appears on your transcript
• May affect course placement

AP Scholar Recognition

• Automatically tracked by College Board
• Notification sent to you
• Certificates available
• Can list on applications (already applied)

Graduate School Consideration

• AP scores not typically used for graduate admissions
