College admissions is a multi-year journey with hundreds of things to do. Solyo breaks it down into a clear, month-by-month roadmap from freshman year through senior year — so you always know what to do next.
Your Roadmap
When you first open Tasks, Solyo generates a personalized timeline with 374 tasks spanning all four years of high school. Each task is scheduled for the right month and grade level.
Tasks cover 8 categories:
- Academic — course selection, GPA goals, schedule planning
- Testing — SAT, ACT, AP exams, PSAT registration
- Activities — extracurriculars, leadership, community service
- Essays — personal statements and supplemental essays
- Applications — college application submissions
- Financial Aid — FAFSA, CSS Profile, scholarships
- Research — college discovery, campus visits
- Planning — strategy, goal setting, timelines
The Dashboard
Your dashboard shows what matters right now:
- Overdue — tasks past their deadline, highlighted in red
- Coming Up — tasks due within 2 weeks, shown in orange
- This Month — everything scheduled for the current month
- Progress bar — see your completion percentage for the year
Use the month navigation arrows to look ahead or review past months.
Working with Tasks
Click any task to see its full details, including step-by-step instructions, helpful resources, and links. Then take action:
- Complete — mark it done and move on
- Skip — not relevant to you? Skip it
- Add notes — jot down reminders, interview feedback, or deadlines
- Reopen — changed your mind? Bring a task back
Each task is labeled as Student or Parent so everyone knows who's responsible.
If you have more than one child, switch between student profiles using the avatars at the top. Each student has their own timeline and progress tracking.
4-Year Roadmap
Switch to the 4-Year Roadmap tab to see the big picture. You'll see progress cards for each grade level (Freshman through Senior) with all tasks organized by month.
Deadlines & Export
The Deadlines tab shows only time-sensitive tasks sorted by due date. Need to track tasks outside Solyo? Export everything to CSV from the settings menu.
