Arizona Promise Program

Tuition and mandatory fees are covered in full at Arizona State, Northern Arizona, or the University of Arizona for resident students who qualify for a federal Pell Grant and finished an Arizona high school with at least a 2.5 GPA. Nothing extra has to be submitted: the university admission application plus the FAFSA is the entire process, and the award fills whatever other gift aid leaves behind. Because it is a last-dollar award, a student with large grants may see only a small Promise amount, and housing, meals, books, and parking are never included. The FAFSA and any verification documents should be in by the April 1 priority date of senior year, and full-time enrollment keeps the award for up to eight semesters. Renewal depends on staying Pell eligible, so a change in family finances can end it.

The current deadline is April 1, 2027. This award runs on an annual cycle, with deadlines around April 1 each year. Applications open when the FAFSA opens on October 1. Apply to the university and file the FAFSA well before April 1; verification paperwork must also be finished by that date.
