Florida Bright Futures - Medallion Scholars (FMS)

Medallion Scholars is the second Bright Futures tier and pays 75 percent of tuition and applicable fees at Florida public institutions. The bar is a 3.00 weighted GPA in the same 16 college-preparatory courses, an ACT of 24, SAT of 1190, or CLT of 82, and 75 volunteer service hours or 100 paid work hours. One form covers both tiers: the free Florida Financial Aid Application places each student in the highest tier earned, so a later test score can lift a Medallion award to the 100 percent Academic Scholars level. The FFAA opens October 1 of senior year and closes August 31 after graduation, with an optional early eligibility check in March for students who finish hours and testing by January 31. Renewal requires a 2.75 college GPA and 24 credit hours per academic year.
