QuestBridge was co-founded in 1994 by Ana Rowena Mallari and Dr. Michael McCullough while they were at Stanford University. It began as a five-week residential summer program for high-achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds before growing into today's national admissions platform. One application reaches dozens of partner colleges, including Stanford, Yale, and MIT, and a matched student receives a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, room, board, and travel, commonly worth more than $200,000. Any senior at a US high school may apply regardless of citizenship or immigration status; those who advance usually earn top grades in the hardest courses offered and come from families earning under roughly $65,000 for a household of four.
