You're visiting colleges! This is exciting and valuable for making informed decisions. Here's how to make the most of each visit.

During Each Visit

• Take the official tour (but don't rely solely on it)
• Eat at least one meal on campus
• Visit academic buildings for your intended major
• Walk through dorms and the student center
• Explore the surrounding neighborhood
• Talk to students NOT giving tours - they're more candid
• Observe: Do students seem happy? What's the energy like?

• "How accessible are professors?"
• "What's the social scene really like?"
• "Where do students hang out?"

Questions to Ask Admissions

• "What makes successful applicants stand out?"
• "What type of student thrives here?"
• "What resources support students in [your intended major]?"

After Each Visit

Write detailed notes while impressions are fresh:

• Overall feelings and observations
• Specific details for "Why Us" essays
• Rate on key factors (academics, campus life, location, fit)
