Missouri A+ Scholarship

Graduates of Missouri's A+ designated high schools can attend a public community college or vocational-technical school with tuition and general fees covered after federal non-loan aid is applied. Earning it is high school work rather than an application: three consecutive years at an A+ school, a 2.5 GPA, 95 percent cumulative attendance across grades 9 through 12, fifty hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring, and a Proficient or Advanced score on the Algebra I end-of-course exam. The high school certifies all of that at graduation, so the real action item is registering with your A+ coordinator early enough to bank the hours. Because it pays last, after Pell, the award can come to zero for students whose tuition Pell already covers. File the FAFSA for each college year before the award year closes June 30, then hold a 2.5 college GPA and twelve credits a term to renew.
