Nebraska Door to College Scholarship
Offered by Nebraska's Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education · Free to apply
Nebraska's Door to College Scholarship gives up to $5,000 a year toward college costs for Nebraska residents who spent time at a state Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center (YRTC) and then graduated from high school at the YRTC or at an accredited public or private school, or earned a GED after discharge. Students must attend an eligible Nebraska college or university, file the FAFSA, authorize the Department of Health and Human Services to confirm their YRTC history, and keep the college's academic standards to renew. Students submit the application to the financial aid office of the Nebraska college they plan to attend. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have legal status; DACA recipients are not eligible under state law.

How Solyo estimates this: State programs that allocate by published formula are modelled on qualification and filing, not on competition, because there is no selection committee choosing between applicants. These are estimates derived from each award's published structure, not reported acceptance rates, which almost no scholarship provider discloses. Treat them as a way to rank where the hours go, not as a guarantee.
