The Texas FFA Scholarship is the statewide counterpart to the 4-H Opportunity Scholarship and one of the largest youth-organisation award pools in the country, funding well over a hundred academic scholarships a year from donors including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Rodeo Austin and the Wallrath Educational Foundation. One application covers everything: you cannot apply for a specific fund, and awards are allocated by rank in the field of finalists, with the highest-ranked applicants matched to the highest-value scholarships whose donor criteria they meet. Selection runs in two stages, an area elimination round and then state interviews, judged on a published rubric dominated by the FFA leadership and achievement record.   • Terry Foundation Scholarship recipients are ineligible, and recipients must attend the sponsors' dinner and awards ceremony at the state convention.
