Bright Flight Program

Missouri's top test scorers get paid to stay in state for college: up to $3,000 a year for students in the top 3 percent of Missouri ACT and SAT takers and up to $1,000 for the next tier, usable only at participating Missouri schools. There is nothing to fill out. Score reports flow to the state automatically when a Missouri college is listed at test registration, though a superscore has to be sent manually using code 2379. Qualifying thresholds are recalculated every fall from that year's Missouri results, so the cutoff moves; recent classes needed a 32 for the top tier and a 31 for the smaller one. Only national test dates count, and the last one that counts is the June sitting right after senior year, which makes July and on-campus residual tests useless here. Recipients enroll full time the following fall and hold a 2.5 college GPA, for up to ten semesters.
