Georgia Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) Grant

Offered by Georgia Student Finance Commission · Free to apply

The Inclusive Postsecondary Education Grant pays tuition, mandatory fees and program fees for Georgia students with intellectual disabilities who are enrolled in an approved inclusive college program. These programs, such as Georgia Tech's EXCEL, UGA's Destination Dawgs, Kennesaw State's Academy for Inclusive Learning, Georgia State's IDEAL and others at Columbus State, Georgia Southern, Georgia College, Berry College and Albany Technical College, let students take college classes, live on campus and prepare for work. The grant covers actual charges up to a cap set for each school: $13,000 a year at most university programs, $5,970 at Berry and $4,000 at Albany Tech. The student must be a Georgia resident who meets citizenship rules and the program's own admission criteria. There is no separate application beyond the FAFSA or the Georgia Student Finance Application, which must be filed before the last day of the term. Admission to the inclusive program itself is the real gate, and those programs have their own application timelines.

What drives the odds here

Odds on a scholarship are mostly a question of how many students can enter. Each rule below changes the size of that field.

  • Fewer rivalsOpen only to Georgia residents
  • Fewer rivalsRequires a specific life circumstance
  • Fewer rivalsOpen to a single grade level only
  • More rivalsA five-figure award attracts a bigger field

How Solyo estimates this: State programs that allocate by published formula are modelled on qualification and filing, not on competition, because there is no selection committee choosing between applicants. These are estimates derived from each award's published structure, not reported acceptance rates, which almost no scholarship provider discloses. Treat them as a way to rank where the hours go, not as a guarantee.
