NSHE Foster Youth Fee Waiver

Offered by Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) · Free to apply

The Nevada System of Higher Education waives undergraduate registration fees and lower-division lab fees at all seven of its degree-granting colleges and universities (UNLV, UNR, Nevada State, CSN, Great Basin, TMCC and Western Nevada) for students who were in Nevada foster care as wards of the court for at least one day at age 13 or older. Students must have finished high school or a HiSET, TASC or GED, file the FAFSA every year, and be under 26 on the first day of each semester. The waiver applies to fall and spring terms. After the first semester students must meet satisfactory academic progress, including a 2.0 GPA. Students submit the NSHE Foster Youth Fee Waiver form to the campus contact listed on it.

  • Fewer rivalsOpen only to Nevada residents
  • Fewer rivalsRequires a specific life circumstance

How Solyo estimates this: State programs that allocate by published formula are modelled on qualification and filing, not on competition, because there is no selection committee choosing between applicants. These are estimates derived from each award's published structure, not reported acceptance rates, which almost no scholarship provider discloses. Treat them as a way to rank where the hours go, not as a guarantee.
